1320/2010 SAT, 3.95 weight, 3.48 unweighted. I applied as a bio/pre-med major. Although I know on stats alone I was not a shoo-in, I did visit and spoke with a professor who liked me so much she sent comments to admission. Plus, I am from MA and Asian…I really like Bucknell…I’ll most likely take a place for the wait-list, but we’ll see how that goes.

accepted and a presidential fellow =]]

accepted with the presidential fellows scholarship/program

2130/2400
1390/1600
93% GPA

What exactly is the Presidential Fellows?

here is a link to the scholarship info:

[Scholarships and Grants || Financial Aid || Bucknell University](Events)

"Presidential Fellows Program

These prestigious scholarships are extremely competitive. We anticipate that about 300 students will be considered for about 25 fellowships offered to members of the Class of 2014.

Selected by the Committee on Admissions, eligible candidates will rank in the top five percent of their high school class, score at least 1450 on the SAT (or equivalent ACT), and show outstanding potential to be contributors to the university. In order to maintain this award for your four years, you must be in good academic standing in terms of both GPA and credit hours. A number of students will have these qualifications, but actual awards are competitive, so not all who qualify will be awarded.

These renewable awards are $12,500 per year, plus a $1,500 internship."

this is their highest merit scholarship, and honestly i would’ve appreciated if it had been worth more because we could really use the money. but i am still excited to have been chosen, as it seems like an excellent (and very selective) honor.

Do you still have to write an essay to be considered for the Presidential Fellows? My D was early admission last year and also a Fellows recipiant but she had to write an essay…but maybe that was just for the EA people. Anyway…congrats to those accepted.

Yes, merhan7, an additional essay was required. The prompt this year was “Describe a project or commitment you have undertaken. Discuss your goals, the things that went well and, in hindsight, what you would have done differently.”

DS accepted from CA, but no FA at all, so he will not be going. :frowning: Loved the school, but can’t afford the pricetag!

any internationals? got the fedex thing yet?

No…I wrote to the admissions office and they just told me to wait…We could see our decisions via the checklist after 12:01 A.M on 29th this month.
