congrats girls! Those who got into Spring, cheer up! I’ve heard that you can try and negotiate for the Fall entrance if there are any spaces after MAY 1st.

As for those wait-listed, you can try and fight your case if MHC’s really your first choice. Or you can let them know that you wouldn’t mind the Spring slot.

Cinederlla wait for other offers and then you can tell them that XY colllege offers u more money but MHC is ur first choice and could they increase the aid so it matches the one from XY.

girls i just checked my fa package and one year at MHC (tuition, board, insurance, etc…) is exactly $56 066

hey girls ! ok so how come that in the web site it is 52 036 $, then someone else says 55 500 $ and someone else says 56 000 $, that’s confusing …

i said its 55k before i chhecked my fin aid package. they gave me a scholarship and then said ur EFC is xxxxx so I just added their scholarship and my EFC and i got exactly this sum $56 066

lilita; your number of $ 52,036 is correct (for tuition, room&board, fees)…I just double-checked the MHC website. Other people are adding in insurance, which may or may not apply to you, and who knows what other costs; perhaps books, travel.

no, my ISIS still shows this:
Your Admission Decision: All admission decisions are sent via postal mail and will be available on this page on April 1, 2010.

yes, it says that my graded writing sample is not received. I didn’t send it because in my school during english lessons we do not write essays. (I know how strange it sounds for you but it is the way everything works there).

That’s probably why you didn’t get your decision yet then. Mine says they didn’t receive a teacher recommendation, but I did send it so I don’t know what happened there.

It could be that Mount Holyoke counted your application as incomplete and never made a decision on it as the result of that. I could be wrong, but if you just didn’t send your writing sample without working out an agreement with the college not to do so, I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t review your application.

Definitely agree with portugueseninja. Get in touch with them as soon as possible.

I didn’t have a graded writing sample either because I’m already out of high school and I don’t have any essays now that I wrote in high school. So I contacted them and explained the situation, offering to write another essay they could use as an assessment of my writing ability, and pointed out that it wouldn’t be graded but if they wanted me to do that then I’d be happy to.

So I don’t mean to sound like I think this will lower your chances of acceptance, because I don’t know enough about admissions to guess how they’d think of it - but just not sending something and not giving an explanation might work against you.

Call them tomorrow and explain your situation. I hope it works out for you.

hey guys ! I received a 41 000 $ financial aid for Mount Holyoke, so I don’t know how much left I will have to pay, if it’s 52 000 $ i will have 11 000$ if it’s 56 000 $ i will have to pay 15 000$, so do you know if there is any way I can request for some additional grants or loans, I think my parents can handle the 15 000 $ but my sister is still studying abroad which might be a bit difficult .
thanks !!

I’m still waiting for mine fingers crossed

If anybody else is still waiting, I spoke to them yesterday - there is a bunch of people left who still haven’t had their decisions but we will all hear by April 1st.

Heu GUys!
Can anybody tell me if we can discuss the financial aid package because my parents only earn 35 000 $ per year, and with MHC I guess I will have 14 500$ left to pay (I got a 41 000$ Financial aid) + my sister still studies in France and they also have to cover her expenses.

Did anyone try to discuss the package ? How flexible are they ?
