Decisions....

At least that’s what everyone else seems to have been e-mailed. I’d say definitley give them a call and see what’s up.

I remember I submitted mine about 10 days prior to the deadline. Then again they said the decision will be mailed by March 17… There were a few issues I had with this application. One thing that still hasn’t been fixed is my citizenship… I am NOT a US citizen and every time I call to change it they say it’s no big deal and they will handle it…

jhw857 - Did you just get an email?

I did… It was spefically from FSU admissions and stated “A decision on your application for admission has been rendered”. I was then were directed to go to the admissions website to learn the decision.

At what time will they stop updating the decisions? its 10PM and mine is still the same as it was. “…ready for review…”

gugger, your status should have read that your “application is complete and a decision will be rendered March 17th” weeks to months ago. Your status indicates that your application was not complete by the deadline. They needed, by the deadline, all information including transcripts, official SAT/ACT reports, counselor rec, application, essay, resume, etc. It is probably in the process of review, but no decision will come tonight. YOU NEED TO CALL tomorrow (although lines will be busy) and see what is up.

Are you applying as a FTIC freshman?

That I couldn’t tell you. I’ve heard in the past that admissions gradually releases the decisons… meaning not everyone will know @ the exact same time.

trust sunnyflorida on this one… make the call to the admissions office TOMORROW to inquire about your status

I will do so… Thanks.

here’s what my Status check looks like:

EDIT I was interviewed with the Film School last weekend. I don’t know how that will affect my admission the the university…

The film school is a limited access program with 2000+ applicants for 25 freshman spots. Did you submit the Film School application directly to the Film School by Dec 1? [Applications / Apply to FSU Film / Film School / FSU - College of Motion Picture Arts](http://film.fsu.edu/Apply-to-FSU-Film/Applications) and http://film.fsu.edu/content/download/3378/23219/file/Fresh%20Applic%20Oct%2008.pdf

For the film school, the PRIMARY application is the application directly to the film school. The application to FSU admissions is secondary. You first have to be admitted to the film school, and then officially meet the criteria for FSU as a whole.

The film school does personal interviews for the final 50-60. You can search the FSU forum here on CC and there are 8-10 older threads about those who applied, those who got an invitation for the interview and when… I think interviews are March and early April. If you applied to the film school, the decisions are not made until after the interview process. I believe April 15th.

I have done everything in terms of my film app and my uni app. I met all deadlines. I went for the interview and I know that I will not hear back from the Film School until April… However, will the fact that I applied to the film program affect FSU’s decision to the university?

The two decisions are often linked. You went for a film school interview already? What did they say during your visit? Did you stop by FSU admissions and ask if you would be hearing sooner than April 15th?

Based on your status you will not have a decision tonight.

Yes I did. The interview took place during FSU spring break, so literally no one was around… only cleaning services, the baseball team and the film school people. After the interview they said that decisions for acceptance to the film school will not go out until April or possibly even May…

I just don’t understand what is going on with my application. I had no idea it was supposed to read “… rendered March 17…”. The last email I got from admissions was to ask if I wanted to join the LIVE CHAT and the email before that was thanking me for my submission and that I had to pay the app fee. EVERYTHING IS DONE! I paid, submitted my info, essay, transcript, SAT, letters of rec, counselor report… blah blah. Its all there. Everything was completed before the Jan deadline.

I will call tomorrow…

Another film school applicant that I met did early decision for FSU and he got in and then only months later was his film school interview…

Thank you so much for everyone’s help! I greatly appreciate it!

I am in! Good luck to everyone!

Dnerd- do you know how I would go about requesting to change to summer instead of spring?

You could just call admissions and ask. My cousin did that today (Summer to Fall) and they gave him instructions.

Apparently if you chose to major in film or any other program requiring an additional application, FSU waits on the film school’s decision… then lets you know.

^EDIT: I technically have been rejected, however if the film school wants me, then I am in… : /

I am still waiting on a decision…

Grugger,
So are you saying that if the film school admits you, the university itself will admit you automatically? How does that work?
