Well, I actually haven't started high school YET, I will start this September though. I've just been curious on what I should be doing during high school to get myself to a ivy league university. A lot of people have told me to not slack off during my high school years and to get as much as I can out of it, but I really want a specific answer on what I can do/participate in high school to get me a scholarship or get accepted into schools like Princeton,Harvard ect. Any suggestions? (:

There are no specific answers. Good luck.

You should not be focused on getting into a certain university or college. In fact, there really is no specific answer as the poster above said. Just do well in school, take challenging courses, and participate in ECs that you find interesting. If you do what you like, your apps will be naturally stronger.

And finally…relax! Enjoy the summer. Put middle school behind you. You’re starting off with a clean slate [unless some courses carry over]

I know what it’s like to be a nervous middle schooler with your sights already set on your dream school. But my advice is to RELAX. In the next four years of high school, you’ll have plenty to worry about without putting excess pressure on yourself. Take challenging courses, join ECs you find interesting and if you’re already involved in activities you love, continue doing them. Remember, it’s about finding a school that fits you, not fitting yourself for a dream school.

Just do what makes you happy. You won’t be sorry :)

Try your best in everything you do, but make sure that you WANT to do it. That’s all you should really have to do. Ivy level schools are crapshoots, as you will learn.
