Declare Math or Physics?

I’m debating between majoring in math or physics. I know there’s a lot of overlap so it would probably be easy to switch between them, but which would be better to declare? I know physics is not popular as a major at all, but is math? I’m kind of leaning toward math a little right now but it could go either way, really. Would one make me a more attractive competitor? I’m female so I think that might help.

It makes no difference whatsoever. Admission officers recognize students can easily switch majors once they get into college so unless you are applying to a special program or school (ex. engineering, business etc.) it won’t really matter.

That makes sense. I guess I was thinking about Cal Poly (SLO - is it bad I didn’t know Pomona existed until like 2 months ago?) because they admit students based off their competition against other applicants to their declared major. I’ll see if they have any numbers on their website…
