So yeah, on my Cal Poly app I declared Aerospace Engineering as my first major, but you have to choose a second. I'm interested in Mechanical since my grandpa and uncle were both mechanical engineers but I also find Electrical quite interesting as well. Any pros and cons of both?

Mechanical: you can study more or less the same thing as Aero anyway.
Electrical: you get to play with multimeters and they call it engineering.

Jeez I give the EEs a hard time. You know it’s in good fun.

Check out the BLS OOH for employment, compensation, availability, trend, etc. forecasts and census data. Just google BLS OOH and you’ll find it. Go to “engineers”.

As far as the subjects go… I’ll leave it to the people to tell you exactly what makes their subjects fun and not fun.

gears, pumps, compressors, engines, turbines, hydraulics…

or…intangible electrons.

heh.
