declaring Computer Science major in L&S as a transfer student

I’ve been accepted to Berkeley as a L&S transfer student, and want to eventually become a computer science major. How difficult is this process, and what are some plan b’s if I were to fail?
How does Computer Science in UCSD compare to Cal?

http://www.eecs.berkeley.edu/csugrad/#petitioning says that you need a 3.3 GPA in CS 61A, 61B, 70 to get into the L&S CS major.

Were you admitted to the CS major at UCSD? If not, it is competitive to get into the CS major at UCSD. See http://cse.ucsd.edu/ImpactedMajor , but the department says nothing about how competitive it is (there are second hand sources which claim that it is extremely competitive).

@ucbalumnus Yes, I was accepted as a CS major at UCSD. Both programs are great, and I know I won’t make a wrong decision, but Berkeley is definitely prestigious, while SD has given me a safer route to get what I want. Could you please give me some advice? By chance, do you know how difficult it is to declare a major in CS at Berkeley?

UCSD is a perfectly good school for CS, so it would be a lower risk option if you are set on CS.

Difficulty of declaring L&S CS at UCB is based on how difficult it will be for you to earn the needed GPA in the three CS courses.
