Declaring engineering undeclared

Alright I heard from an actual admissions person who visited my school that declaring engineering undeclared is highly impacted and I guess it's almost as competitive as electrical engineering. What do you guys think? I'm just reporting from what the admission person said.

Yes, just as hard or harder than EECS or BioE, because you get to choose any engineering major at the end of your sophomore year.

i've been told (by like the assistant dean) that basically to get into engineering undeclared, it means that you were qualified to get into any of the engineerings. that's why you can just choose whatever major you want without worry
