Declining a college AFTER accepting the offer

Hello, I recently accepted my admissions to SFSU, however I changed my mind and decided that I want to attend Cal Poly in the Fall. I have already deposited my intent to enroll deposit a little while ago.

There are no longer the accept/decline option on my sfsu gateway. What can I do to let the universities know that I have changed my mind and want to decline the acceptance?

Pick up the telephone

Send a letter or email so you have a written record.

just to be clear, were you able to accept the spot at Cal Poly?

I hope the deposit wasn’t a ton of money…

That usually happens when student accepted a waitlist admission later on.

@mikemac yes, I had already paid my intent to enroll fee to Pomona. I was not require to deposit an admission fee for sfsu

Like the others have already said, email or mail SFSU to say that you won’t be enrolling after all. And hope that the CSU system doesn’t have rules against accepting more than one offer. I don’t know what will happen . Hopefully nothing. But if there is such a rule it is possible they have their computer set up to check for the situation.
