Declining one's admission

Private schools send cards with their admission packets that ask the student to accept or decline admission (or they post a link online). My son was accepted to several UC’s and is not planning to attend. Is one supposed to decline these offers (he can’t find any card or online links to do so), or does one simply not submit the SIR (Statement of Intent to Register) for each school? Thanks.

It is not real clear on most of the UC web sites.
My daughter has declined 2 so far and this is what she did.

Click the SIR link on the admissions status page (I know it is scary, but that is how you also decline).
There will be a radio button or some way to indicated that you are declining the offer of admissions.
