Decorating Walls

my dorm has cement walls...does this mean i will not be able to hang anything?! like besides posters or other things of no weight. I kind of really want a dry-erase calendar- how would someone be able to get something like this to stay on a wall made of cinderblocks?

3M maks a ton of stuff (hooks, poster and picture strips etc.) that can go on walls without damaging paint/leaving a stain... check it out, they've worked well for me so far

Ew, *** cement walls?! Sounds like a prison...

Go to Staples, and you'll find a lot of wall tape and poster putty. I had cinderblock walls in my dorm this year, and the poster putty worked quite well.

I've been trying to use poster putty, but a laminated calender I've used it on won't stick. Are there any other adhesives that are non-staining?

3M sticky tabs are amazing. I hung stuff with them on a concrete wall and they stuck until I wanted them to come off (and didn't cause any damage).

I bought these clear, square adhesive tabs that were pretty good for lightweight stuff. Occasionally, a corner might unstick itself, but they were pretty reliable for the most part. They were made by 3M and can be found at Staples. I also had a couple rolls of 3M mounting tape. That stuff was much stickier, but it also left some residue on the cinderblocks (but nothing that caused complaints).

I've had really bad luck with the double sided tape not coming off and staining. Just try the 3M products.

i agree 3M is the best. i highly recommend it. check this out for more info.

blue painters tape works wonders for posters and not so heavy items. At my high school the only thing we could use to hang up signs was blue tape and it is great. It doesn't take down paint or leave residue.

For the dry-erase board, you can find ones that come with door hangers and affix it to the front of your closet door or the inside of the door to the room.

when i was at hockey camp for a summer at the university of vermont, we used velcro to hang stuff on the walls (they were cement) and it was fantastic -- i think it was 3M as well
