Dedicate time to sports or other ECs?

Is it better to be a mediocre athlete, not have time for harder classes, and even less time for after school programs or is better to be president of various after school clubs(Like National English Honor Society). I participate in about 10 clubs. And my involvement is pretty deep (I don't just show up for meetings and such... I take charge when and where I can).

I'm athletic, but not letter quality (yet). But I'm considering cutting down on my ECs considerably to make room for track. How would not taking interest in a sport affect me. I hear all these other kids, in my school and on here, talk about how they play this sport or that, and I get worried that this could considerably affect me through the apps process.

What do you think?

MY ECs:
Youth Advisory Board, co-president
I'm a chair on a committee putting together a Youth/Adult summit.
National English Honor Society, officer
Design Club, president
Debate
Key Club
National Honor Society
National Spanish Honor Society
Future Community Leaders of America
Future Business Leaders of America, officer last year
Chemistry Club
Literary Magazine, possibly editor this year

I also play the piano, sing, and hope to begin dancing again this year (2 year of Indian classical dance and 4 year of Folklorico, Mexican traditional dance). I work for a non-profit and volunteer for about 3-5 hours a week.

My unweighted GPA: 4.0
My weighted GPA: 4.452 (all honors and AP classes receive a 5 instead of a 4)

I take all honors and AP classes and spent my sophomore year taking junior level classes (was the only sophomore in many of my classes, but not all honors or AP). Only non honors classes I usually take are art classes (photography, design etc.)

I should graduate with an Honors Diploma, International Studies Diploma, and Science-Technology Diploma.

I hope to major in business (possibly economics) and a minor in graphic design or humanities.

Would you say stick with the ECs?? I'd have to drop all except maybe one or two in order to participate in Track.

Thanks for any and all help :D IF you need more info, just ask.

Bumpity bump... anyoen wana take a look please!!

I assume you are wanting to apply to very competitive colleges, since your ECs don't matter for less competitive ones.

What do you want those ECs to tell the admissions committee about you?

To me, it seems like you're just trying to be involved in as much as you can to impress college adcoms. What you have DONE in those ECs? Have you done major projects, etc?

If you want to know the BEST thing to do, it would be to not do the sport, and cut your ECs down to become super involved and active in just a couple of them. If you just want to do the sport, then that's fine as well.

The club doesn't matter, it's what you do IN the club.

Actually... I do a lot in all the clubs. If you look over the list again you'll notice that they are all community service and business related. I want to go to school for economics/business and humanities with a minor in design (I enjoy art) and hope to eventually start my own non-profit with the hundreds of connections I've ALREADY made. Plus I'm SUPER involved in all the clubs where I'm in a higher position.

Especially these:
Youth Advisory Board, co-president (we work on one big project ever year, this year we're focusing on stopping kids from smoking, drunk driving last year).

Design Club, president (I created the club at my school, so I HAVE to be involved)

I'm a chair on a committee putting together a Youth/Adult summit (a once a year event involving close a thousand adults and students which we spend a year putting together, I am chair so, once again, I'd be kicked off if I weren't completely involved)

National English Honor Society, officer (and the only member with real community service experience, so needed)

Literary Magazine, possibly editor this year (Very few people actually work on this, so they need all the help they can get from those who are on the staff)

Future Business Leaders of America, officer last year (I have to be involved... I compete)

I spent my summer doing a business internship at a non-profit (only student) and continue to volunteer there.

I guess no sport would make sense... any other thoughts
