@DragonofChangban Exams for me are after winter break… sometime in January, so I haven’t really started preparing really formally. I’m still just trying to stay afloat in the slew of tests and college app stuff of normal life, much less thinking of exams!
Ooh. I have exams this week. I’ve been to several school districts and never had one after january! That’s interesting!
Trying to summarize all the info I’ve read till now.
1)“First round decisions will be released no later than December 22nd, 2013. If you do not receive a decision by that date, please contact the Applications Committee at apcom@deepsprings.edu.”
2)I also read that they start calling today (the 19th of December). This seems to be rarer.
- Also, I quote this post http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/15212711#Comment_15212711
“For the class entering in 2013, applicants will be notified if they have been admitted to Part II of the applications process in mid-January. This is a change from the mid-December notification we have used in previous years, which is noted on the application form.”
Most importantly read this part:
“For those curious about the second-round essay questions in the meantime, they will be posted on our website on December 21.”
4)From what I’ve seen on this site, we get emails if we are rejected, and get phone calls if we are accepted. It is conflicting however as I have seen reports of acceptance emails (I would still double check with an email/call to apcom@deepsprings.edu if no call or email).
5)I’m guessing the responses from DS will be between today and the 22nd on past rejections from others. Could the app possibly have been pushed back due to co-ed becoming possible (I haven’t been able to zealously check the DS site as of late so I may have missed an announcement)?
Does anyone know if their site is constantly down at this time (~13:00 Central time)? I’m getting a 404 on my wifi and my relatives wifi (hopefully it’s updating the website to show accepted applicants!).
if anyone gets a call, definitely post on here!
Check the website. Sounds like no phone calls, only emails.
The website says they will e mail no later than today, 12/22. No phone calls
Ugh. The tension is real for me. First exams and now this, when will I ever catch a break :^)? I’m curious though, would yall like to meet the other applicants even if you aren’t getting past the first round? I feel most of us have much more in common than most people.
On a more serious note, if you get past this round, READ YOUR ESSAYS. I seen on CC here that those who get invited say that they will debate you on your essays. You have to be able to back up your points sufficiently.
Ps. They posted this on their facebook profile. Worth a look.

I’m so nervous, has anyone hear back yet?
I haven’t yet…seems like they r gonna wait till last minute.
I haven’t heard back either. If you do hear back, please let us know!
Nothing yet!
Didn’t get an interview. Was hoping to be a woman in the first class admitting women. Good luck to all especially the women lucky enough to get in
^ same : (
Sorry oliang66. Are you a woman? (Sorry, no easy was not to say that awkwardly!)
Didn’t get an interview either(female from China). Congrats and good luck to those of you who have!
Nope nada. Looks like you really need to so something extra ordinary in your life to be considered.
Rejected as well
Same here. Looks like first year of Coed meant a lot more applicants.
“Due to the size of our application pool, we do not have the resources to review your application with you”.
I’d still meet with the people who join this school though.I think we have a larger applicant pool now which causes more applicants. If we go off the baseline of 200 something people when it was male only, I’d guess that’s >400 people this year.
@whereinnj You need some very high academics anyways. I think you need all A’s on AP or IB classes. My first two years screwed me over pretty hard.
@Empuff What part? Greetings from a from an ABC.
I think we need to try next year, maybe there will be less people.
Ok I am done crying. I really am.
@DragonofChangban thanks for the shout out.
So I am off to college next year or perhaps GAP year.
And I will apply again next year.
If GAP year I better accomplish something spectacular.
If college I better accomplish spectacular grades and some extra curricular activities.
I wonder what they look for in people who apply after 1st year of college.
I don’t think I will apply again, I just need to make the most out of present, engage constantly with my environment, keep reading and keep working out. So long as I stay sober, work on a farm during summer breaks and find academically invested students at another school I’ll be set. I’m sure everyone here has a lot to offer.
