<p>I'm applying to Deerfield Academy for freshman year 2011-2012. My grades are:
Alegbra: A
English: A
History: A-
Adv. French: B+
Science: B (I'm working on it)
Also, my grades haven't been averaged with my exam grades yet so I imagine they will all go up a bit. My grades from 7th and 6th grade are much better, straight A's. </p>

<p>My extra-curriculars include:
-Select field hockey, 2 years
-Lowerschool field hockey, 2 years, captain
-Cheer, 2 years
-Dance, 2 years
-Tennis, 5 years, not competitive
-Golf, 5 years, not competitive
-Skiing, 4 years, not competitive
-Competitive Sailing, 5 years
-Yearbook
-Volunteering at the human society
-Church confirmation</p>

<p>My Awards include:
Academic: Scholar Award, Presidential Honors, Math League Award, and Valedictorian
Athletic: Presidential Fitness Awards, National Fitness Awards, Bronze Eagle Award, and my field hockey team placed first in the Pumpkin Classic Tournament
Attitude: "Community" Award and "Most Committed" for my fh team
Arts: Won a contest to promote Earth Day, Lead roll in a school play</p>

<p>My essay and short answer are pretty good, however I do not expect my SSAT score to be very good at all (I take it in January). I am from the Midwest, so I might have an extra boost there. I know the extremely low acceptance rate, do you think there is anyway I could get in? Also, does anyone have any tips for me? Thank you!</p>

<p>for you, the interview may be most important, but you’ll need great recs and fairly good SSATs.</p>

<p>I’m interviewing next week; I’m pretty good at interviews so I expect it to go fairly well. I have a good relationship with my teachers to I expect my recs to be good. I am worried about the SSAT, however.</p>

<p>You’re Well-Rounded, and I think You have a good chance-You must do well on the SSAT, but, the AO’s do not care if You get an 85%ile on SSAT or a 95%ile because both are competetive and within the “bright” range, unless You get a 99%ile! (Someone correct me if I am incorrect) It is not so hard to recieve a 85%ile, too. If You do well on the SSAT, Interview and Essays I bet You will be accepted! That is, if Your Recs are excellent as Well! Good luck!</p>

<p>Thanks Exeterrr! When I get back from my vacation, I am meeting with a few alumni and a member of the board (friends of my dad’s), so I’m hoping that will help as well. I’ve been taking practice tests online an scoring around 70-80’s on them, and I am getting a tutor when I get back who tutored a couple of girls who got accepted to Deerfield, so hopefully that will help me get to the 85+ range.
