I don’t think Andover’s application is up yet…

@ cvkitty: I think it’d be easier if you took the TOEFL, just because you’ll be competing with people who’s first language is English if you take the SSAT. Totally your choice, though.

@ livenlaugh: Really?! Thanks! I haven’t completely finished it yet, but I’ll definitely PM you when I do. Good luck at Deerfield, and let us know how it all goes!

yay for boarderkid! were alike
but yeah, im terrified! what if this is why i get in! oh noo. ive set my heart and soul on deerfield, im going to be devastated if i dont get in. AGH!
hmmm good luck
how are your applications going?

boarderkid - yeah, i think it would be easier. but the deerfield office knows that i speak english on my daily basis, so i+m not sure if they’ll make me do a TOEFL or SSAT. i lived in england for 5 years. from when i was born until the age 5 so i can speak english, im just not sure if i will do well in the test because there a lot of words ive never heard of, especially in the synonym part!
do you know if i do the TOEFL i will also have to do the ssat?
btw are you in deerfield?

The application for Andover for 2010 is NOT yet posted on their website. Reading the website clearly indicates that. Last year’s application can, however, be a useful guide to what you will need to do this year.

@ cvkitty: You should definitely contact the Deerfield office to be clarified. I’m really not sure what you should do…

@ livenlaugh: How’s Deerfield?!

Many people on CC say that Deerfield is the “preppiest” school. The reason most often given is the dress code is so “preppy.” Does this style of dress to when the students are not in their dress code clothes, or does DA get that reputation simply because it has a “preppy” dress code?

I’d like to hear more about Deerfield if anybody has time.

bump…any current Deerfield students willing to share their experiences?

yeah! I would like to know more about deerfield~

bump- we must save this thread b.c deerfield is an amazin school =)

YES! We must keep Deerfield ALIVE!
lol :)

lol finally a thread for deerfield!! woooh

i visited DA in November and it’s a really nice school =) my interview was like an hour…i talked soooo much…

now im worried!!! since they are over-enrolled and im a girl…AND im an international student whose first language is not english…

as for SSAT, i got 80+% for both verbal and reading, but 93% overall…but it seems like everyone on cc is getting 95%+ T___T

P.S: 35 days till march 10!

pretty good SSAT for an international student

March 10 seems sooooo far away… oh well, i am a girl so I dont know if that helps or hurts… but I did pretty well on the SSAT, 91% overall… hoping that I get in!

somnusc: 93% SSAT average is very good for ANY student - international or domestic - good luck!

lolz hey did any of u get letters from deerfield?

2 weeks ago I got a letter from DA and my d got a separate letter from them, both very nice.

My letter addressed “parent” concerns and d’s was shorter but still nice.

After those letters came we got email from FA department asking for additional information–

I am taking this a good sign

o same here then i got two more letters from football and english

how did you get one for english…?
