Deerfield vs. Choate

Who is ready for deerfield day next year!!!!!I am!!!This is really random sorry...lol...

My son is totally ready and will play lax, soccer, and bball at Deerfield. You can pm him (Baltolax)

How is he doing baseball and lax (they are the same season, aren't they?)

nervedoctor is probably refering to Bocce Ball which is played in the winter at Deerfield 'tho some schools play it in the fall.

damn - bocce ball? If only they had it when I was in school! That could have been my ticket to the Ivies. I'm a MAD bocce ball player! :)

Oops, forgot about basketball, we are such a baseball-focused family!

im playing basket ball and softball at choate next year...i have NO idea about the fall..any suggestions for a girl fall sport...

You going into 9th Grade bball?

girls sportss!
i don't know if
they have them at
choate...
cross country?
soccer?
field hockey?

! preppp is correct - Choate Rosemary Hall is one of the few boarding schools in the northest that does not offer sports for girls. The others are Avon Old Farms, Salisbury, Trinity-Pawling and South Kent.

I didn't know there was such a thing as girl's sports, FIF. Are there some schools that DO offer them?

yes theoTypedThis...im going to 9th grade... i think i might do vollleyball...idk

baseball...soccer...thats it for me.

I heard Choate college matriculation is not as good as Deerfield.

i beg to differ...

fun is fun--you stand corrected. The girls' sports at Choate are cooking and sewing. They are so focused on those that they don't put much into college applications. Thus, the inferior college matriculation.

What used to be called "Home Economics" is a valuable tool and fif is glad to see that Chote Rosemary Hall recognizes that. Of course, a little tennis and badminton is a good idea too.

fif is sorry to hear that Choate's college admission record is so poor, but Elon and Rollins are good schools as well.
