I have been waitlisted at Deerfield. Does anyone know how many people are on the waitlist? When stats say (2005) they accepted 360 and enrolled 201 does that mean that they sent out 201 acceptance letters and 159 were wait listed? Are waitlist numbers a secret? Thx!

it looks like deerfield has a big waitlist...... i am not staying on it though

If they accepted 360, and enrolled 201, it means that 159 students went to another school (just didn't go to Deerfield).

thanks for the info... I appreciate it.

My son goes to Deerfield (was not on waiting list) and apparently there is an extremely long wait list of which many are siblings of current students and alumni who may have preference. Suggest you focus on another school especially if you have an acceptance in hand.

On another post today, op recieved notice that deerfield and xxx are overenrolled (which is always that case) and will not be taking anyone from waitlist. ---- but you never know?

The real shake out comes in august, when people pay big tuition bills, rather then tiny deposits.

I agree with toadstool. Many can talk the talk, but are they going to be willing to write checks for 40k? Many days remain until next fall. Many more jobs will be lost and home equity and retirement accounts will remain in the gutter.
