Defeating the SAT essay in 2 days

I’ve been posting this question and no one has answered yet which is making me pretty nervous and worried. Can anyone help, please?

I took the SAT and made the most idiotic mistake in the books. I finished my math section and hadn’t finished the last two but please don’t think I went back to finish them. I was working on my writing when I saw a random question in the middle of my math not bubbled and I was convinced I had miss bubbled so I panicked and went back to see if my answers corresponded twice just to not completely fail the test. My proctor came over and said “stop going back. This is the second time I’ve seen you do that” and I apologized and stopped. I feel so horrible but I need this sat score for a college scholarship so I freaked out. I don’t know if he filed an irregularity report or not. Does he have to tell me if he does? Or get me to sign something? I’m so worried and would really like to hear your opinions. Thanks guys

Making up fake examples… rofl. Genius.

Nish,

You’re fine, just don’t do it again.

honestly the writing section really isnt so much about quality, you can bs the system and get a 12 as long as you knwo what they are looking for

can i just ask, this might sound like a silly question but can I use a tv series as an example . I was thinking of using the popular turkish series muhtesem yuzyil or magnificent century because it is so rich in examples. I have heard that you can even make examples up or use examples from personal experience. Then surely if it doesn’t matter what examples i use, i can use it from a show and even if the sat grader has not heard of it, they would see how well written the essay is, wouldn’t they? Please share your opinion even if you haven’t heard of the show but it is actually quite famous worldwide as well as very controversial

Ahaha, this is pure genius! I can’t believe I’ve never thought of this! Thank you so much for enlightening me. :stuck_out_tongue: I am soo going to use this on my SAT. Btw, are all of your examples fake? Just curious. :D

definitely going to try this approach in jan 25… and will give a little update on my scores

I can’t believe it. You spelled sandwich wrong!

Tried using it in Dec. 13, jumped from 8 to 10! Thanks satman!

Good luck to those taking the SAT in a couple days! Maybe this’ll help.

Pls grade my essay, thanks .

Basically the topic was based on the prompt : Do people perform better if allowed to do things their own way.

People are more likely to succeed in their various endeavors if allowed to carry out their tasks with full independence. Many people may argue otherwise especially parents in the case of a child. This is because ostensibly having a formulaic or regimented way of doing things is a better option. I strongly believe the reverse holds true. Several examples ranging from history , science and even to music have proved that people perform better at their own pace and using their unique and individual approach.

As can be seen from the history of the American revolution that culminated into the independence of America from the hands of the British colonial masters. The American colonists were ready to go to any length in fighting for the freedom of their country. They would much rather run their country with their own beliefs and unique style. Although the struggle was intense and some lives were lost, the victory gained marked the begininnig of a new dawn in the history of America. The founding fathers then proceeded to frame a constitution with which the country was to function by, considering the interests of the people and also the progress of the nation as a whole. Today after so many years from independence, America stands strong as a nation; More so a nation that is highly regarded even as the most powerful in the whole world. This is surely no mean feat and was achieved only because the founding fathers were opportune to run the country themselves without any external interference from the British.

The story of Ben Carson’s separation of the first siamese twins ever separated succesfully also springs to mind. He is a famous surgeon today not only in the field of medicine but throughout the world whereverever his name his mentioned. This is because he managed to perform an operation that was initially considered impossible using the available knowledge and expertise at the time. He was faced with the option of performing the surgery as usual, with only a slight chance of success or abandoning the case altogether. This was an undoubtedly difficult choice to make for him. However after much deliberation he was able to accept the case as he came up with an idea different from the usual, which he believed could be potentially succesful. Fastrward to the post operation and the twins were separated succesfully even when senior doctors were skeptical about his “novel” method. This shows how doing things your way can be aid success among individuals.

After careful analysis of the examples of the American revolution and the story of ben carson . It can be seen that people have a very high chance of succeeding if given the chance to do things their own way, when the converse happens and people are derived of the opportunity , the same results would keep on happening and there would be little progress if any at all.

thanks guys really needed this

bump for all you SATers this Sat.

gee thanks @satman1111

where can i send my essays for grading?

Bump for SATs tomorrow :(

Just read through this and wrote the most glorious sample essay I have written
Thanks for the post

I remember making up a Bill Gates quote and a fake Chinese ruler on my March SAT lol. I got an 8, 2 points higher than my legit essay.

For those who say ‘quantity beat quality’ and ‘fill out the 2 pages will get 9-10’, I can tell you it isn’t the case actually. I once wrote a full 2 pages SAT Essay(real test) and got only an 8. Also, my friends too got 8s even if they got the pages full of words.

@satman1111 Thank you so much… You don’t know how much this has helped me improve my essay : D
