I have a question @satman1111 How were you able to fit your essay in just 2 pages? There are like 570 words in your essay!!

hmmm, haven’t been on here in a while, glad I could help some of you guys out though! and @marstatic, it’s possible, my writing isn’t even that small and I made it fit, I just went way to the bottom of the second page

Dude, thanks so much for this post. I swear this is a freaking godsend. I’m a (very nervous) junior prepping for my first SAT in january 2o15, and the essay part is the only section i can’t crack!

To those saying that this is just a pointless gimmick and that “bright, intuitive, educated people score well on the SAT essay,” sometimes that’s simply not true. All of my teachers consider me very bright a good writer. My SAT practice test range is currently high 700’s to 800 on Math and CR, and my MC for Writing is also decent (1~3 wrong usually). But in all those times i’ve taken the practice test, i have never ONCE finished an essay on time! There is a system, and this is an efficient way to beat it. Most of my wasted time is on thinking of examples.

I never even thought of the possibility of making up examples aside from personal ones. You are a genius. This post also has tons of great advice besides the BSing too, and it might just give me that extra score boost i need! Thanks a ton again!

oops, double post :[

That intro is so good… haha
Is obligatory to use a real literary example?can i just make up a book/author and use it?
@jkjeremy I disagree. I scored a 2260 on the January SAT, but only received a 7 on my essay. The problem is not with my verbal skills or my writing skills, but with timed writing under pressure. If it’s a normal essay that I have a week to write, I can usually produce some quality work, but given 25 minutes, there’s no way I can write two pages’ worth. The essay portion is in no way an indicator of your actual ability.
How did you find graders whose scores matched up w/ CollegeBoard grader scores?
Wanted to say thanks, this really helped me out.
Well, I am going to take the SAT exam again. I scored 1830 on the last one with a 6 on my essay. I was really disappointed, but now , after reading your method, I think I can get at least an 8. I am looking forward to taking the test. I really hope I will do well.
Thank you
I tried this method and improved from a shaky 8 to a 9. My only mistake was my ending paragraph but the made-up detailed experiments really helped.
This is wonderful!
I used the “12 in 10 days” trick but only got a 7. I filled both two pages too. But I read my essay, and one example was extremely weak. And in AcademicHacker’s defence, I had few ridiculous mishaps like using “is” instead of “in” and writing a fragment. My conclusion was also atrocious.
I am very happy to know that you don’t need to fill your essay with hard ‘SAT’ words. I’ll be using your method for January’s SAT but I surely will practice during the vacation. Hopefully I can raise my 7 to 9-10. I got 4 MC questions wrong on the writing section and got a 640. Pissed me off.
