Well Georgia Tech is my #1 choice for aerospace engineering and i was deferred on the 15th so I wanted to get an idea of what my chances are going to be going forward.

Their website says they only accept 20% of deferred students and 27% are waitlisted.

GPA: 3.68 W
SAT 2080 800 M 610 CR 670 WR
Senior Yr Grades: All As 1 B+ (first quarter) and all As 2 B+ (second quarter)

Diverse EC, leadership, great essay, OOS (NJ)

I would say they are higher than last year because last year they deferred 40-45% of early admission and rejected only 5-10% (I don’t remember exactly). This year, they deferred only half of it, which kinda makes your chances higher. I have similar stats to you, maybe slightly higher, and I’ve got a friend with terrible stats who got deferred (I honestly thought he would get rejected, he did not even make it to UGA), so they’ve got plenty of people to reject from those deferred.

^ was he deferred at UGA or rejected? If he was deferred at both place maybe he has some sort of upward trend or hook that they see they you may not.

He was deferred at UGA too, but his GPA is below 3.5, his SAT is 1750, and his only EC is Habitat for Humanity. The only distinct plus about him is that he was in Governor’s Honors Program. He might get accepted at UGA, but even this is not certain

Did you send in your AP scores? If you didn’t you should. Your SAT score is in the range and with the SAT and AP’s I think you have a good chance of getting in.

This maybe a stupid question but how exactly do I send AP scores? I mean all I have are the slips they send in the mail in July. Is it online or something?

Ok to offically send them use the automated phone service with a credit card.
888-308-0013(toll free 24 hours a day)

you would need your ssn#,test dates and GA tech’s college code which on my sons report is 5248.

Note :Please verify the code:)

It’s $15 per report but that’s not $15 per test just $15 per school.
You can also fill out the form they sent you and mail it in with a check.
or fax it in with a crestit card number.

I am not saying it’s necessary to do but since you got good scores it can’t hurt. I know all of my son’s sat’s,sat II’s,act and AP scores were listed on his application status page so I assume they take them into consideration.

Did you maybe already send them to them when you took the tests? it allows you to send them to one college free at that time. for some reason my son misbubbled and sent them to a college in spain…
