<p>To make it more clear......Suppose I got accepted for 2012.......but due to certain circumstances I will be able to enroll only for 2013..........Are there colleges that allow us to defer enrollment ??</p>

<p>I think most colleges let you defer enrollment for a year. I am not aware of a single non-military-academy college that doesn't.</p>
<p>Yes, most colleges will allow you to defer your enrollment for a year if you have a valid reason for doing so.</p>
<p>In fact some colleges (such as mine, Stanford) allows 2-year deferrals for valid reasons (mainly military service).</p>
<p>I would say almost all schools allow you to defer. There are some schools that even encourage it. I am not even sure you need to have a "valid reason for doing so." But each school has its own policies. It's called taking a gap year in some places. Check it out on the web sites.</p>
