Deferral Decisions

How many people does Columbia usually defer in the ED pool? And do those who are deferred stand a good chance of acceptance in April?

wow, haven't seen you in a while Chumboy...

it seems like only yesterday when you were the first the reply back to me on my first post on CC.

Judging from the threads...quite a number got deferrred, I guess Columbia College is getting more picky.

For all the high-end schools, your chances of being admitted after being deferred are remote. Figure maybe 10 percent. Best is to plan on someplace else.

Columbia College accepted 15% of it deferrals last year, which believe it or not, is higher than their 10.5% overall acceptance rate.

I would say, dont get your hopes up though, that means out of 100 people, a mere 15 will get in. those aren't good odds, even if they're better than overall. It's time to think about rd now, and as much as it hurts, move past your defferral, because it isn't a ticket into columbia.
