So I had my counselor at school call georgetown (since they wouldn't tell me anything) and he talked to an adcom there and asked if there was anything more I could do before reg dec, what chances etc. She recommended writing a letter to the adcoms letting them know that I am still interested in Georgetown. Im kind of stumped as to how to go about this though. I NEVER write letters, and I don't want to sound like I'm rambling or repeating something everyone else says. Any suggestions for things it my be important to include or how to open it?

please help-I dont want the same news in april i got in december...

1) Tell them Gtown is your first choice. Somehow...don't do so blatantly like in the first sentence, but add it in there somewhere. (of course, only tell them that if it's true, lol)

2) Tell them why you'd fit at Gtown.

3) Tell them what you're doing btw now and April.

I got deferred from Georgetown and I’m actually quite shocked that I didn’t get rejected. To be honest, I earn average grades and I got a really low SAT score (I swear I’m not a dumbass) so I didn’t expect to be given a second chance. But recently I checked on their website and it says applicants should take the SAT subject tests and I even called the admissions office but they said it was optional. Do you guys know if anyone has ever got accepted even though they didn’t take the SAT subject tests?
FYI - Georgetown doesn’t reject any Early Action applicants - just acceptances or deferrals. Also, subject tests are not optional so not sure who you spoke with to get that information.
Could i jump onto this wagon? D would like to send a similar letter…and its written…but where to send it? Georgetown doesn’t have listed regional admins…and i’m flummoxed by what email address to use for this…any helpful tips?
Although I know it’s hard not to get discouraged, don’t be!! I have a relative who is a straight A student and went to a very competitive high school who was deferred in EA last year and was accepted during regular decision. She’s a freshman there now and loves it! When you write a letter to adcoms be sure to include what you could do for the school as well as why it’s your first choice. Gtown is very service oriented and loves to have students who in addition to being academically motivated, are also involved in school and/or community service. Also make sure that your counselors send your first semester senior year grades and any additional awards/honors you may have received. Best of luck!
