Deferral @ NYU Wagner

Hi everyone

My name is Ayu and I hailed from Indonesia. Recently, I have been accepted at NYU Wagner for the MPA program in Fall 2017.
However, when I applied at NYU, I didn’t expect to get accepted, and in Indonesia most scholarships requirements were “must get accepted at a certain university”. My class started in September and most of the scholarship or sponsorship cannot have the money ready by that time. And students loans for me are out of the question, because of NYU’s very expensive tuition and the foreign currency that keeps getting higher makes is impossible for me not only to pay it back (might took decades) but to apply to one as well.

Due to this financial situation, the option of deferral comes to my mind. At least it gave me extra 1 year to apply for scholarships or finding sponsorship.

My question is for someone faced in similar situation with me, does the reason for financial and sponsorship difficulty is acceptable for deferral at NYU Wagner?

Your best bet at getting accurate information on deferral pertaining to your situation is going to be to email the NYU Wagner office. I know typically with Bachelors programs NYU has no problem granting deferral requests but I don’t know if it’s the same for an MPA. If I were you I would definitely call or email NYU Wagner as you’re not likely to find the information you’re seeking on here.
