Hey i got deferred from Northeastern University. Northeastern is one my top choices and I want to do all that i can to get in. do you think sending in a rec letter from a parent will decrease my chances of getting in? The reason why i am asking this is becasue I feel that if i send a letter from a teacher, it will be almost the same as my previous rec letters. Also, I think a parent can write qualties that that teachers can't. what do you think? thnaks for the help! also, is it common for people to send in rec letters from a parent?

I will also make sure that my parents write a truthful letter and that it is not biased

I don’t know if I would do that… It will inevitably be biased, I mean, you’re their child! Maybe if you really want to send another letter, try an employer…?

Good Luck

don’t have a parent write a recommendation. For anything, ever.

haha @ emily. Alright I wont. what about another teacher rec casue I don’t work. Or perhaps a letter from myself expressing my interest into the school?

Improve your grades and do some more EC. Another letter won’t help, IMO.
