Just seeing if there was anyone else here who was deferred after applying early then got accepted!
I'm pretty sure it's because I wrote this really awesome letter about how Penn was still my first choice (ok, it was a lie, but my other rejections made the decision for me and this is where I'm going!)

ME!!! I applied to 4 ivies, and i was accepted here after being deferred in december. it was really worth the wait and i am thrilled about this autumn!!!

Same, I completely thought I was gonna be rejected. I figured if they didn’t accept me then when I applied early (and I am also double legacy, and ED is where that counts), why would they accept me now? I wrote a letter though emphasizing them as my first choice and my headmaster (a graduate school wharton alum as well) wrote a really good letter too.

sleepingbeauty, did you write some sort of letter as well?
I really think writing a letter is what counts, because I remember reading somewhere that they only accept about 10% of those who were deferred…and some of this is because after people get deferred, they make no contact with the school, which shows the student’s not that interested afterall…etc.

yeah! i sent it with my mid-years. i just emphasized how much i loved the school and they miraculously accepted me!!! i still can’t believe it! haha i really thought i would just be getting rejected

I sent a letter saying Penn was my first choice, and it was from the heart.
Now i got rejected, I have no where to go. Im waiting a year and trying again.

I was accepted to UPenn SEAS after being deferred. I think it was because I chose to be considered only for the Jerome Fisher program for early decision, so I didn’t make that and they reconsidered me for just SEAS during regular decision, which I did make.
