deferred, and still no interview?

i applied SCEA and was deferred, and never got an interview. now that RD applicants are getting interviews, i'm starting to wonder...anything i can do?

Did you interview on campus? That could put you at the bottom of the alumni interview pool. If not, I'd call the admissions office and find out who the ASC director for your region is and call that person to request an interview. One more thought: Have you been carefully screening the email address you gave Yale, including your junk mail, for an invitation to interview? You may have been offered an interview via email and deleted it.

My D has not received a request for an interview yet but some of her friends who applied have. We live in the Los Angeles area. Should we be concerned?

If you are worried, follow the advice above about calling your local volunteer interview coordinator, the Alumni Schools Committee Director. If your daughter applied RD, I'd wait another week before taking this route as I'm sure the LA ASC director has his/her hands very full trying to line all the interviews up. Yale is probably still processing names to ASC directors in any event.

Good advice, I will wait. It is so helpful having you on this forum!

For anyone who calls an ASC director, be polite and take an "I hate to bother you and know you're busy, but could you please fit me in" tone. If the ASC director can't arrange an interview for you, be gracious and understsanding. This may sound obvious, but from some of the attitudes taken by applicants I've interviewed, perhaps it isn't.

Got it! Yes, we are very conscious of not appearing rude or over anxious. Its not like they have a shortage of qualified applicants!
