Do you think I have a chance? Should I spend time to write a letter to stress my interest? I got deferred....:/

There is always hope yipyip. Hopefully you have applied to other colleges. My son is still hoping Hopkins comes to their senses and grabs him. With the Summer University on his apps he has more colleges buzzing him than flies on dung. You have a solid resume and any top tier college will be happy to grab you. His biggest concern is a rolling admissions acceptance before Hopkins makes a decision. As Admissions Daniel posted, more are denied than are deferred. You are definately a solid candidate.

Don’t worry, I was deferred as well. Like SummerUDad said, more people were denied than deferred and just because Hopkins deferred you doesn’t mean you’re not a good applicant. I applied other places as well but Hopkins is still my first choice. We’ll see what they say in March. Good luck to you as well!

Are you going to send them a letter to stress your interest?

My son submitted the letter expressing his continued interest along with mid year grades from HS and other non-matriculated student coursework at other colleges. He also had an additional letter of recommendation sent on his behalf.

I’m sending an updated resume, letter of interest, and possibly a letter of recommendation.
