deferred applicants & extra materials for RD?

when i got deferred, i wasn't really sure what princeton wanted from me... whether my x-currics were lacking or my grades weren't good enough or what???

sooo are you guys goin to send in any extra materials for RD consideration? I was thinking of writing another essay... do you think they would accept that?

im probably going to send an extra essay, an extra recommendation, and a sheet highlighting my most recent awards

And IIIIIIIIIIIII'm not sending anything in.
haha
I think I'll be the only one.

i am sending an extra rec.....and the optional "what else would u like us to know" form...telling princeton....what else i would like them to know about me.... ;) lol

While I know that deferral isn't pleasant, please don't make the mistake of thinking that it means that there was something flawed about your application or that something was missing. If you are not a competitive candidate, you would have been rejected outright -- it's simply not worth the headache of maintaining an active folder for someone who won't be competitive in the regular pool. What deferral means is, "we like your application, but we've got lots more coming in, and we want to take a look at them, too, before we make a decision."

This advice on this thread is good -- you can keep them updated on what's going on with you, but it's also fine to do as OMZ is doing and not send in anything more.
