Deferred Applicants

<p>If you look in the decisions server under questions, it says:</p>

<p>My application has been deferred. What does this mean?
The Selection Committee has decided to wait until April to give you an admissions decision. At that time we will notify you of one of two decisions: admit or deny. If you are admitted to Penn in April you are not obliged to attend since we did not extend the offer in December.</p>

<p>Here it says you will either by admitted or denied.</p>

<p>Then, in another place, it says: </p>

<p>Applications under the Regular Decision Plan are due on January 1. Final letters announcing admission decisions for regular applicants and applicants deferred in December are sent in early April. Candidates receive one of three possible decisions: Admit, Wait-List, or Deny. </p>

<p>Here it’s kind of vague.</p>

<p>I’m not sure…do deferred candidates have the option of being waitlisted or can they only be admit/denied?</p>

<p>Ha, that's sorta funny... Maybe they wouldn't wanna put deferees through any more hell by waitlisting them.</p>

<p>I know it can happen...I was deferred myself from Wharton. I was just wondering whether my decision in April could be admit or defer or whether I could also be waitlisted.</p>
