I was deferred at Dartmouth for ED for the class of 2014. What does this mean and how will my chances be affected of getting in RD? Also, when they re-evaluate my application, will they look at me against the other deferrals or against all of the people who applied RD?

also what can i do to make sure that I stay on the radar for Dartmouth when RD time comes around?

Same questions here. What do I need to do? I am taking my ACTs to make up for my 2120 SAT, but what else?

They’re going to re-evaluate you after RD, against all the other deferred applications. Around 6-10% of deferred applicants are accepted.

I’d go for better scores and better essays.

make sure you keep showing interest to the college. it’s imperative.
you can demonstrate your interest in a variety of ways of course, so I don’t think I need to elaborate :P.

good luck though :]

Consider adding a supplemental recommendation from an EC or job. Consider a resume elaborating on your ECs if it was hard to describe them well on the common app. Consider a revamped or additional essay. Try to achieve straight As first semester senior year. If your SAT/ACT is weak, consider studying and taking them again.
