Deferred. Do i have a chance for RD?

NEU is my top choice so im hoping i still have a shot

GPA: 3.26 (my school doesnt give me correct weights though, so i think its around a 3.6 if
NEU recalculates it)

ACT: 26

2 excellent recommendations, and 2 very good ones. (2 were addressed directly to neu saying how its my top choice)

A great essay, that also explains my gpa, but its not a "pity party essay" but rather one that gives a cloud a silver lining (i had a very traumatic soph year with 3 friends deaths, and my best friend was diagnosed with cancer so my gpa is brought down significantly by that year)

amazing ECs and leadership: varsity basketball and volleyball for 4 years and captain of both. president of two organizations, and a member of many clubs, and community service.

and i live in southern california

It depends on what college you applied into - I was deferred as well …

I play Girls Varsity Lacrosse
I have received many Faculty Awards in Math and Science
I am in Interact Club, Student Council, Humanitarian Club, Debate Club, and in the Student Leadership Organization

I am not an excellent standardized test taker; however,

560 Critical Reading

ACTs-

Sports:
Varsity swimming 9th and 10th (made it in 11th but my mom told me to quit because I had to bring up grades, but when I told the coach she got so ****ed that she just kicked me off the team =( )
Varsity Soccer 11th and 12th

I had MUN from 10th to 11th and this year I’m ambassador for it.
I did lots of community service and raised money to send 50 children to school for a whole year, buying supplies and tuition and all.
I won a local news National Film Competition and placed 1st with a 4 minute documentary on the education of poor children. And I live in Pakistan, so I think I’m like one of the only Pakistani kids with a film on their resume.

Does anyone think I can get in Regular Decision? I really want to go to Northeastern, I ED’ed to Carnegie Mellon as a shot in the dark, got rejected but that wasn’t unexpected

I’m in the same boat as you corinneh, well actually I’m slightly worse off, but I believe you have a shot at RD. Northeastern likes people who see them as their top choice and you’re extracurriculars are pretty good
