So today I got a letter from college board saying that Georgetown is requesting 'O8 tax returns, W-2s, 1099s,and a farm/business supplement. I was also deferred from UChicago, but they haven't requested any additional documents. Is this maybe a sign that I'm accepted, or are all deferrees getting these?

I think it is a promising sign and a way of asking you if you are still interested!

I was deferred too and I got an email requesting them too. However, I was under the assumption that those forms were required for all financial aid apps and that's just the process of how they are submitted. Could be wrong though.

Kronren is not wrong.

Thanks, that's what I figured. Can't blame a girl for hoping. :)

Just to clear this up, I think Butternut (hey, btw - Haven't seen you since the UChicago board) received the IDOC letter from collegeboard. This letter lists all the colleges to which you submitted the CSS/PROFILE that require copies of your tax returns.

Per Columbia AdCom Dir:

If you are deferred do not stalk the adcom members. It is appropriate for the STUDENT to send a single note, affirming interest, and 3 or 4 bullet points of update. Possibly the you HS college counselor may make one call. They already like you if you were deferred or wait listed. Torturing the Adcom with calls and additional recommendations does not help.
