Deferred EA... What can I do?

I cried for about an hour this afternoon when I got my letter... I know deferral is basically rejection, but I'm going to try as hard as I can to get in RD. Georgetown is and always has been my first choice, but I didn't work as hard as I could have in school freshman and sophomore years, so I'm having trouble. Any input would really, really be appreciated, and while you're at it, can I reasonably expect to get into George Washington? Thank you so, so much.

...what else?

Don’t cry… Get up and do what you can to get in with the second round (like you said). Cry when it’s all said and done and you’ve been rejected for good. Actually, don’t even cry then. If you retake the US History SAT and the Math II and boost those, that would definitely significantly increase your chances. And keep your grades up because I believe they will get a mid-year report of you.

Yes, you can reasonably be expected to get into George Washington. Did you get an interview?
