I was deferred ED to regular decision in the spring. Is there anything I have to do to my application or will it automatically go? Also should I even have hope that I could get accepted or are my chances pretty small? Anything I can do to improve them? Any other deferred applicants out there??
I think you can still keep in touch with admission staff. If you can get better SAT/ACT, send them. Keep studying in your high school and make sure the mid-year report. You can tell them anything that you think can help your application, especially progress in Extra-curricular activities and academics.
Between 10 and 20 percent of applicants who are deferred during the ED rounds subsequently are offered admission in spring. All hope is not lost, but you should find another school that you’ll be equally happy attending.
You should also have your guidance counselor call and ask if there were any deficiencies in your application. They won’t talk to you directly. Be sure send anything as a supplement that might be useful like new awards, grades, and if you know anyone with a strong Midd connection, info about how fabulous you are from them.
my daughter was deferred ED and just received an email asking her for missing financial aid forms, does this mean she was possibly accepted or do they do they review everyones financial aid whether admitted or denied? Thanks
Financial aid is completely separate from admissions (as it should be for a need blind school), so unfortunately this means nothing.
