Deferred Elsewhere ... Applying to Brown Now

howdy, howdy…

I was deferred from Columbia, and now I’m submitting my application to Brown. Honestly, I’m pretty excited at the chance of going to Brown (if I for some reason got into Brown after a Columbia rejection). I’m struck by its placement on college hill. Not sure why.

Anyway, anybody else applying to Brown after getting deferred from another school?

hey im with you…i was deferred from columbia college and am now applying to brown and hoping for the best.

same here. and after writing the short responses for brown’s supplement, i’m actually pretty excited about brown. honestly, if i get into both columbia and brown (oh god that would be amazing!) i would have a hard decision to make…

not exactly in the same boat,
deferred from brown, but still would love to go to brown.

columbia’s core curriculum is not my type at all.

Yeah, mine is a lot worse. I got deferred from Cornell, but am applying to Brown. Only reason why is because I am a very holistic and unique applicant.

Zeke! I remember you from the Columbia threads…

Deferred is a hard life. My regional admissions rep informed me that about 25% of the 2900 ED applicants were deferred. Huge number in my opinion.

yes yes yes. im back. sadly i think most of the regulars from the columbia ed thread got accepted, there’s just a few of us left.

but a lot of people def got deferred. i was sorta mad. it just seems a little lazy and noncommittal on columbia’s part.
