Ive been accepted to my safeties and two match schools. But I have been deferred everywhere else. I am wondering if you are deferred and dont increase any your stats much will you basically be rejected? Or can you still be accepted without much improvement (im not saying im not going to try strictly a hypothetical question).

Probably depends upon how many applications they get--but, yes, you would normally be rejected during the "regular" round unless something changes.

just in case this changes things im not talking about super competitive schools that I applied ED to. I got deferred from several public universities with a rolling admission base.

I looked at some of your other threads. I see you got deferred at Indiana University-Bloomington (main campus) and you are out of state. That explains the reasoning there, as they have to accept more kids instate than out of state and you were on the bubble. However, DONT PANIC. You may well get accepted RD, so you have to be patient. And they WILL see your senior grades. So DONT fall into the trap of being all funky. MAKE YOURSELF think positive. Look forward. Tell yourself, "I am GOING to be accepted at IU and I am going to show them I deserve it!" Then DO IT.

Next, you were accepted at Western Michigan. Nothing wrong with that. To a large extent college is college and everybody knows that SAT's and ACT's are NOT indicators of your intelligence or ability to perform well in college. Wake Forest DUMPED standardized testing (its now optional) in admissions. They have stats from their own students and some studies they did that prove their point. Success in college is based on motivation, healthy lifestyle (not drinking, not staying up too late, eating right, sleeping well), work ethic, and more often than not your overall past history in course work.

Where else did you get in? Keep your HEAD HIGH and your CHIN UP! A funk will not help you. Get exercise. Eat right. Sleep well. Study hard and think positive.

It works. Believe me.

I know it's probably more of the exception than the rule, but I was deferred EA from MIT and my stats didn't change at all before I got in RD.

bump.............
