Deferred for Honors, no merit?

Yikes, we were surprised to find out DD was deferred for now from Honors and received no merit, from my alma mater U of D. Kind of surprised since she has received generous merit from several other nearby OOS state schools, some of which are more selective in their admissions. Any other disappointed people out there?

Not sure when she received her decision but merit comes after the admissions decision. Do her stats line up with the projected merit listed on their website? Did she do the optional essays? She could always contact honors to express her continued interest in being part of that community. An honors deferral is not a rejection.

Thanks for the tips - I am overwhelmed a bit by the whole process and will check. I know every college has differing criteria and resources, we are perhaps spoiled a bit by the earlier generious merit from other colleges, and shouldn’t assume. . . .

S19’s merit was 2-3 weeks after admission.

Dd got into the honors college, just received her trustee award in the mail today. She is OOS, but this is what we were expecting after doing the calculator.

Did you run Delaware’s net price calculator? Our daughter got deferred for honors, but get a merit award greater than what showed up in the net price calculator.
