Deferred from Cornell

So I get this message when I log into my online decision account: and it seems to me that I've been deferred or rejected. I've noticed that other deferred students were able to submit additional documents for the spring round, but I don't seem to have been given that opportunity. I am so confused, what does this mean?!

Cornell has not yet made a decision on your early decision application. You will receive a letter in the mail within the next few days. Should you have questions, you are welcome to contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office next week at 607.255.5241 and we can provide you with an update regarding your application. Thank you!

Sincerely,

Jason C. Locke
Director
Undergraduate Admissions Office

It means you arent deferred or rejected although either of those 2 may still happen. Perhaps the admissions comittee couldn’t make a decision on your application by December 8

Don’t freak out. You didn’t get rejected, but will be re-evaluated in RD pool. Apply to some other schools too just in case.

umm why don’t you call the number they give you?

I would call, but I don’t think they accept calls on weekends.

That’s not the deferred message that I received…

Justin - please let us know what you find out tomorrow when you call! As soccerwolf points out, this isn’t the standard deferral letter. Best of luck to you!!!

Cornell deferred me because I submitted my SAT scores late. I will be evaluated along with the other regular decision candidates.

Justin - I’d rather be deferred because I missed a deadline than the standard reason! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.
