<p>i heard this from someone who heard it from a Cornell rep when they toured..</p>
<p>Actually I remember seeing something on the admissions website in their description about ED that implied that many who are not accepted during ED are deferred.</p>

<p>Go to Cornell’s website, Admissions, Undergraduate Admissions Office, How to Apply, First Year Students, Early Decision Information. It doesn’t include statistics of how many deferred vs. rejected but as I read it, it implies that many who are not accepted are deferred.</p>
