My daughter’s top choice is URI but unfortunately they’ve asked for her mid-year grades. She’s out-of-state, has decent GPA but unfortunately her SAT scores are not the highest. She wrote a letter to Admissions telling URI that they’re her top choice. The funny thing is that it’s the last school she toured and has already gotten into her other top choices (some with money).

What are her chances? When will we hear?

If you look over admission postings from the last couple of years, you will get some info. One mom was nervous when they asked for her daughter’s mid year grades, but she ended up being accepted. My friends son was accepted last year, and then they asked for mid year grades, so it happens more often then you might think.
