So guys, we're all back in the game! I was hoping I'd be out but they pulled me back in again. I thought it would be neat to go through this journey together a bit?

So what're you guys gonna do between now and March to shine?

Personally I'm working closer with my math tutor because that was the only class I didn't get an A in last quarter. I'm gonna wow em with my 2nd quarter grades!

Well, I’ve been working on a high altitude balloon project with my school’s tech club, and we’re launching it before the March decision date.

It’s been an informative process and an awesome learning experience. I wrote about it on my application, but got deferred (1st gen legacy even).

I have a few awards to report, but nothing spectacular. However, I do have a 4.0 report card with honors to show them. I honestly am just going to go through the motions with them (though they are my first choice) because I just think the deferral was a courtesy because I have a strong alum legacy tie. Sad but, I think, true.

Deferee here too! Is it advisable to contact your regional rep in addition to the optional update form? Or is it best just to keep quiet over the next 3.5 months?

haha I have no idea what to do! I think I’m going to take the bio subject test in January (bleggh) to give them something new. Hopefully I get NMF so I can report that as well.

I’m really disappointed that I didn’t get in, but at the same time, I realize I can’t really complain about anything. Hahaha now I just have to work on other apps -__-

Do we get this deferred decision by snail mail? Because while it’s nice we’re still alive in the pool, I really don’t want to be reminded and reminded of the purgatory state we’re in.

Oh gosh looks like a lot of us have the same secondaries too! I’m applying to a couple UC’s, Brown and Dartmouth as well. Plus McGill, Cornell and USC. Among others. I applied/am applying to 13 schools overall haha.

I honestly I have no idea why I was deferred. I have no hook and am asian with average test scores. Regardless, I’m planning to keep the 4.0. Besides that, I have no idea…

I think my ECs were decently good and my essays were pretty good, a little better than the average. But no, I do not come from a tough background. But I would say more! The letter says the acceptance rate is 15%, not 10%. And I think around 550 got deferred. So that’s 94 people in total.

Hahah agreed. I think it’s a good omen for the other schools we’re applying to. For some reason I have a really good feeling about Penn, especially since our school does really well with it.
