I received the news that I was deferred from Florida State yesterday. I have a 3.50 weighted and a 3.4 weighted GPA. I feel that I was deferred due to my poor test scores...they didn't meet the minimum requirements. However, FSU also asks to see mid senior grades and I may have received a C in AP Biology so far, which I'm freaking out about. With stellar test scores (eventually) and the C grade as a hurdle, are my chances for admission after deferral significantly decreased? A few people from my private Catholic school were accepted with 3.3 GPA/ 26 ACT score. A good number of people from my school were also accepted with 3.5 weighted GPA's and 24ACT's. Florida State seems to view students from my school in a positive light, however I am still extremely worried.

Deferred means they still want to consider you just as much as other RD applicants, so don’t so worried. Does being worried help anyways ?
