I was deferred from Princeton Early Decision. I'm little worried that I may not have a strong application. Does a deferral from Princeton mean that I'm a borderline applicant for all Ivy Leagues and top colleges like Duke and Stanford? I'm asking this because I think I applied to many reaches and a very few matches/safeties. So I'm little scared that I might get rejected in all of them and have nowhere to go next year.

It means your worth re-considering in Princeton's opinion, but colleges have different desires.

im in your same spot man.

deferred from yale and I applied to 14 schools - 11 of which are reaches.

i just applied to 14 to hope i get into one.

plus, if you have 2 safeties you should be fine.

I looked at last year's thread about deferred applicants and where they ended up at. They got into amazing schools, especially Duke, Brown, Yale, and even Harvard! Don't worry. I'm sure you are an amazing applicant and will end up at an excellent school. Btw, I was deferred from Princeton and applied to many schools. Heh.

I know this is really stupid to ask this, but I'm anxious and paranoid. Does being deferred from Princeton mean that I may have good chance of getting in lesser schools like Duke and Stanford?

Maybe Duke. Stanford is as hard as Harvard this year

Many very qualified candidates are deferred and later rejected. Different schools look for different things so one applicant can be rejected by Duke or Stanford but be accepted by Harvard, Princeton, etc. I know someone who was rejected by UVA but accepted by Harvard.
