<p>They might have just had a really good year, applicant wise, and just want more time to think about it (if you are good, but not the best). Your numbers look like you should get in regular, though. It’s not like being deferred hurts your chances in the regular applicant pool. They might just not know your HS well, and don’t want to give away and early spot. conversely your demography might be over represented and the want diversity in the early applicant pool.</p>
<p>So just keep doing what you are doing. Revise your essays for the next set of schools. Make sure you have safety schools.</p>
