I was deferred from michigan’s college of engineering.
I get to know if i’m accepted, denied, or waitlisted in april.

ECs- NHS (2 yrs), HOSA (2 yrs), Volunteering club (3 yrs), Piano (3 yrs)

Aerospace Engineering
3.8667 UW/ 3.82 with U of M’s calculator
1360 SAT, 700 Math.
Marching band, NHS, Quizbowl, Student Council. Leadership in those. Also I work as a private lessons teacher.

@blue13 me too dude. I’m not sure about you, but I’m in state and literally UofM blows everything out of the water and has been my dream school. Like, compared to Western (my most likely second choice) it’s miles better.

Your GPA is a bit on the low side. A competitive applicant will have at least a 3.8 GPA, and the actual average GPA for incoming freshmen is higher than that. Your ACT is okay,
The major you list on your application has no bearing on your competitiveness. For an undergrad, the office of undergrad admissions makes the decision, not the department itself. Every COE student comes in undeclared, and to declare a major, you must have satisfactorily completed a certain subset of requirements your first semester in COE. In summary, your ability to declare a major depends only on how you perform as an actual COE student.

I was also deferred from CoE, however, as far as I understand we could both (possibly) hear sooner than April. I know some people last year who were deferred, but were then accepted in February. No guarantee though, so it could still be April for both of us.
