Hello,
I’m currently a high school senior with a 3.7 unweighted GPA and a weighted 4.1 GPA, and I got a 26 on my ACT. For extracurricular’s I was in Choir freshman year, Junior year I was on the swim team, and senior year I joined musical theater. (I also have 65 hours of community service hours if this helps any) After this semester I achieved straight A’s in my classes at school, two of which are AP classes, along with getting straight A’s in my dual enrollment classes at the college which boosted my GPA to 4.2. (just submitted updated transcripts about 3 weeks ago) I also wrote an admission essay which was optional for the application. After getting deferred in December from UCF for fall 2017 I’m curious to know if anyone else is in the same situation I’m in, or if there is anything I can do to help raise my chances. Thank you in advance for any help!
Perhaps retake your act??? GOOD LUCK!
GO KNIGHTS!!
Did you take the SAT? Maybe try that or retake the ACT
Your straight A semester will certainly help your cause. Send it in and, if you feel strongly about a particular class, ask that teacher to write a LOR.
Have you called admissions and asked why you were deferred. Your stats are decent and they are very good about answering concerns.
I know others in the past that have called and found out that something was not received and others who called just to find out more, were then accepted. Ask to speak to an admissions counselor, not just the assistants answering the phone.
