Deferred from UChicago..help on what to do next!!

I was deferred from UChicago and even though I have no chance this time around to get admitted, I want to do everything possible to try.

Email to regional counselor:

should I tell him what my grades were? My mud year report won't be sent out until March 1st so I feel like that's too late.

When writing a paragraph of my continued interest, should I write it in a "WHY UChicago" format? Such as expanding on reasons why I chose Chicago?

I know I'm supposed to tell him my acheievements but I really haven't had any. Only thing was that I held a school-wide canned food fundraiser and was able to provide 5 families a Thanksgiving dinner. Yeah it's great but would that be considered an acheievement?

Should I update him on a schedule change? I decided to take a more rigorous schedule and pursue a higher math should I let him know ow will he just see it on the mid year report?

I obviously have many questions so it would be great if any of you have experience with this and can help me out.

Is it really possible that great essays can overshadow a 1900 SAT score? Because all 3 of my essays for UChicago were unique and creatively thought out. Also I did a summer course at UChicago and one on my letters of rec were from the teacher who taught my class at UChicago. Any shot?

Thank you for any responses!

Your best chance for “strengthening” your application is to provide additional compelling information to admissions – for example an academic, sports, music, etc. award, or an exceptional academic achievement, or strong mid-semester grades, or an additional and very strong recommendation letter. Talk to your college counselor for additional suggestions.

Consider also retaking the SAT. You might be able to do this for the end-January SAT standby.

Considering the 25%ile is 200 points above that, very doubtful. Fogcity has good recommendations.

Already sent in 3 letters of rec. so I don’t want to overwhelm them. I took an AP (got an A) and took 3 dual-enrollment classes biology (got an A) College Algebea (got an A) and Physics (got a B :/) would recommend I notify my regional counselor or just wait for them to see my mid-year reports?

I’m signed up for the jan. SAT, which is in a a week, but I’m torn on whether to sit for it or not.

I might not score higher and even if I did it might not even help me in admissions. I guess it would help if I wanted to transfer.
