My parents really want me to be at least accepted to UM and keep telling me to call this counselor person, though I heard it's really not good to bother them.

My application was strong in course selection and ACT, but ok in GPA and weak in extracurriculars. They said to have my school counselor forward my 2nd trimester grades to them when it's finished.

My expected grades are
AP Calc BC - B
College Writing - A
AP Psychology - A
Spanish 4 - A
AP Physics - B
(Way too difficult to get all As)
I heard you should only contact them to show your interest if you've actually done something notable your senior year. All I've done is get some ok grades.

Should I bother contacting anyone there to show I'm interested? If so, who and how? What should I talk about? Thanks.
