Deferred from USF

USF (University of South Florida) is currently my dream school and today I received a letter in the mail saying I was deferred and should send in my first term senior year grades for reconsideration. I was wondering what my chances are of actually getting accepted now that i’ve been deferred. Part of me is hoping that I can get accepted later on but i’m very unsure of how high my chances actually are. I have a 3.2 cumulative GPA and a 27 on the ACT which i knew were not strong at all to start with. I moved to a new more rigorous school halfway through high school which took a huge toll on my grades. I visited the campus this summer and I have good letters of reccomendation. My application has a strong essay and extracirriculars. Can anyone give me an honest opinion on what my chances are?

I’m no expert on acceptance after deferral but if your grades are good this term, and a decent strength of schedule, I’d say you have a good shot. That 27 is not bad at all. Is the 3.2 weighted, if yes, that could be your problem.
